Even though White was destined to make his mark in another arena, he competed for the Pirates—not yet the Steelers—in 1938-39, where he led the league in rushing, and for the Detroit Lions in 1940-41. 3B, b. 1948. “The Penguin” was a power hitter, best known for his performances on Dodger teams of the 1970s. Beaned in the head by a Goose Gossage fastball in the 1981 World Series. OF Mgr, b. 1949. A solid bat and glove, spent his playing career with the Braves, Dodgers, Giants, and A’s. Current manager of the San Francisco Giants. IF, b. 1948. Played his entire 18 year career with the Dodgers, and is second on the all-time list for games played as a Dodger.
