	<answer label="Jim Honochick">Ump, b. 1917.  Honochick was behind the plate in the seventh game of the 1955 World Series when the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 2-0 on the pitching of Johnny Podres.</answer>
	<answer label="John McSherry">Ump, b. 1944.  The corpulent McSherry once called Pete Rose out on strikes. "That ball was low," Rose insisted. "You missed it.  If it had been a hamburger," Rose continued, "you wouldn't have missed it."</answer>
	<answer label="Emmet Ashford">Ump, 1914-1980.  The common element among these choices is umpiring.  The Court is the umpire of the federal system.  These umpires worked the major leagues, but the first black among them was Ashford, who began his career in the bigs in 1966.  Thurgood Marshall was the first black justice on the Court, appointed by President Lyndon Johnson the year after Ashford broke the color barrier for umps.</answer>
