Scholars who have studied McKinley&#8217;s work find it to be an easy job: he issued only 20 opinions and two concurrences in 15 years on the bench, none of which were legally significant.  Throneberry&#8217;s career was a metaphor for the hapless Mets of 1962.  (His initials even spelled M-E-T.)  Once called out on appeal for missing second base on a triple, Mets manager Casey Stengel challenged the call, but was stopped when the ump replied: &#8220;Don&#8217;t bother Casey, Marv missed first, too.&#8221;  For his career, Throneberry hit an anemic .237.</answer>
