Jackson was an outstanding student, graduating from college at age 18, and then a hard-working member of the Tennessee statehouse and the US Senate.  He sat on the bench for only two years, however, after an illness forced him into early retirement.  Cleveland fans will remember the songs that were written about &#8220;Super Joe&#8221; Charboneau, who won the AL Rookie of the Year award in 1980.  Two back operations forced him out of the game after only three seasons.</answer>
