Overview
Ed Marshall received his B.A. in history from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993 and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University in 1996. Ed is the deputy division chief, capital-case supervisor, and hearing-team leader for the Postconviction Litigation Division, which consists of 35 attorneys handling capital and noncapital federal habeas corpus litigation brought by convicted felons in the Texas prison system. In more than nine years with the division, Ed has argued twice before the Supreme Court of the United States, 20 times before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, including 2 en banc arguments, and once before the Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas.
