Biography: 

Corey Maze is the Solicitor General for the State of Alabama, a position he assumed in August 2008. As Alabama's chief appellate attorney, he argued two cases before the Court during the 2009 term. Corey received the National Association of Attorneys General's "Best Brief Award" for the 2008 term for his amicus brief on behalf of Alabama Governor Bob Riley in Northwest Austin Municipal District Number One v. Holder. Mr. Maze joined the Alabama Attorney General's Office after graduating law school in May 2003. In addition to his Supreme Court experience, he has argued more than 20 cases before the Eleventh Circuit and Alabama courts of appeals . Before assuming his current position, he split time as a criminal trial and an appellate attorney. In that capacity, Corey prosecuted six capital murder trials and an attempted double murder trial.
