Overview

A member of Severson & Werson, Jan Chilton specializes civil appeals, while also having extensive jury and non-jury trial experience.

Mr. Chilton represents financial institutions, other businesses, and individuals in state and federal appellate courts on appeals and writ proceedings involving a broad range of issues including antitrust, bankruptcy, civil procedure, contracts, commercial law, construction disputes, insurance coverage, labor law, psychotherapy issues, securities, and wrongful termination of employees. He also defends financial institutions at the trial level and on appeal against class actions and suits under consumer protection and unfair competition statutes.

Mr. Chilton is admitted to practice in California and Tennessee. He served as a law clerk to Justice Raymond Sullivan, California Supreme Court, was editor-in-chief of the California State Bar Journal, and is a member of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
