Samuel Bagenstos is Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development at the Washington University School of Law. His writing focuses on civil rights and disability rights law, and he is also an active appellate litigator in civil rights cases. He previously taught at the Harvard Law School. Before entering academia, Bagenstos was an attorney in the Appellate Section of the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice. He clerked for Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and the Harvard Law School.
