Biography: 

Kimball Anderson is a veteran trial lawyer with 30 years of experience at Winston & Strawn, where he is a senior partner, General Counsel of the firm, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He has a national trial practice concentrating in the areas of professional liability, product liability, patent and trademark infringement, class actions, and insurance coverage.

Mr. Anderson has argued two cases before the United States Supreme Court: Shalala v. Illinois Council on Long Term Care, Inc., 120 S. Ct. 4084 (2000); and U.S. ex rel. Harris v. Reed, 109 S. Ct. 1038 (1988).

As national and local counsel to Fortune 100 companies, Mr. Anderson has tried many cases to verdict in state and federal courts around the country, and has received national attention for his representation of former Governor George H. Ryan and for his representation of a major pharmaceutical client in transfusions-associated HIV cases, and for other major commercial litigation. He also is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Anderson is a 1977 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law where he graduated first in his class, summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, and served as editor of the Law Review.  He also is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois.
